TREW LOVE MASSAGE STUDIO TERMS & CONDITIONS

Reservations

In order to help ensure that you obtain your desired appointments, I recommend scheduling your appointment as far in advance as possible to ensure availability. Any last-minute reservations are subject to the whims of my schedule, but I will do my best to accommodate you. Details of the cancellation policy are provided below.
Please notify me of any allergies or sensitivities to aromas or ingredients when you schedule your appointment.

Cancellation Policy

Your therapy times are reserved exclusively for you. I value your business and ask that you respect the following scheduling policies. Should you need to cancel or reschedule, please notify me at least 2 hours in advance.
Any cancellations with less than 2 hours notice are subject to a cancellation fee of 50% of the session price. Cancellations within 2 hours of your appointment may result in you being charged full price for your scheduled session.

If you or anyone in your household develops potential covid-19 symptoms, or come into contact with anyone displaying such in the days leading up to your session, please let me know and we will postpone your treatment without penalty. This is for your safety, the safety of other clients, and my own. I will be checking your temperature upon your arrival, and if it is above 100 degrees Fahrenheit, I will cancel your session and you will not be responsible for any of the cost. Thank you for your understanding.

No Show Policy

I understand that unanticipated events occur in everyone’s life. Unforeseen events such as car problems, business meetings, and children’s illnesses, are just a few reasons why one might consider canceling a massage appointment. However, I ask that you call if you cannot keep your appointment. Clients who miss their appointments without giving any prior notification may be charged in full for the scheduled service. When you miss an appointment, I not only lose your business, but also the potential business of other clients who could have scheduled an appointment for the same time.

Informed Consent

Prior to each massage session, the treatment plan will be discussed with you. If you choose to continue with the treatment, it means that you understand and agree to comply with professional massage therapy policies and procedures.

Scope of Practice

Massage Therapy is a profession in which the practitioner applies manual techniques, and may apply adjunctive therapies, with the intention of positively affecting the health and well-being of the client. Certified Massage Therapists neither diagnose nor prescribe for medical conditions. I may recommend that you see a medical doctor for diagnosis or treatment. Massage therapy is not intended as an alternative for proper medical attention for specific conditions. Please refer to a medical doctor for any specific condition which requires medical treatment.

Respect for Client Needs and Boundaries

I am more than happy to adjust the pressure, temperature, or music volume; as well as work longer on a specific area or move on if you request it. As the client, you may choose to: leave on as much clothing as needed for your comfort, refuse any massage methods, pause or stop massage at any time. If you choose to disrobe, you will always be draped*. Only the area being massaged will be uncovered. You will be kept informed of the area to be massaged. Sexual interaction or discussion of any kind between the client and the massage therapist is NEVER appropriate.
*If receiving an abdominal massage, the chests of all clients will be draped regardless of gender or physical presentation.

Confidentiality and Conversation

I treat all client visits and conditions as confidential. As such, I will not discuss your visit with anybody else without your express permission. You may choose to talk or remain silent during the massage. Conversation will be guided by the client. I will periodically check in with you to see how you’re doing.

New and Existing Medical Conditions

It is the responsibility of the client to keep the massage therapist informed of any medical treatment currently being taken and to provide written permission from the physician, chiropractor, physical therapist, etc. for the massage if required. The client must also keep the massage therapist informed of any changes in health conditions. There are many medical conditions for which massage is contraindicated, so it is crucial that I am informed.
For clients undergoing chemo and radiation therapies – Please note that I require a doctor’s note stating that your doctor is aware of and agrees to your participation in massage therapy.

Personal Hygiene

When possible, I ask that you please make an effort to wash up before your session. A hot shower would also serve the purpose of helping you to relax and warm up your muscles, allowing my work to sink deeper. This maximizes the therapeutic effect of your time on my table.

Packages

Promotional values expire after 1 year of purchase.

My Right to Refuse Service and End Sessions

As the massage therapist, I reserve the right to end a massage session if I feel uncomfortable as a result of the actions or words of the client. I reserve the right to refuse service to anyone who will not abide by each and every one of the above-listed policies. Examples of behaviors that will cause me to terminate or refuse service include but are not limited to: violence, or threat of violence toward myself or someone else; commentary of a sexual nature; sexual advances of any kind; hate speech of any variety. Actions such as these will result in the termination of your session, and you will be charged full price.
